Mise en Place
- Assemble Equipment. Measure and separate all ingredients.
Bring it Together
- Add yeast and warm water to the bowl of a stand mixer and allow to bloom for 5 minutes.
- Add half of the flour to the yeast and mix on medium until well combined, scraping sides of the bowl with a spatula if necessary.
- Once combined, reduce the mixer speed slightly (to prevent the flour from flying everywhere) and add the remaining flour and salt. Continue mixing and increase speed gradually until a cohesive ball of dough is formed.
- Cover the mixing bowl with a damp cloth and let rise for a minimum of 20 minutes.
- Add olive oil to the bowl to help remove the dough. Break dough into up to three segments and spread out on a greased pizza or baking pan.
- Heat oven to 425 degrees F.
- Top the prepared dough with any toppings of your choosing and bake for 15-18 minutes until golden brown. Slice and enjoy!
Notes
- This recipe should yield enough dough for two thick crust or three thin crust pizzas.
- I've used "00" flour for this recipe, but you can always use all-purpose or "best for bread" flour.
- Also try our recipe for Perfect Pizza Sauce which goes perfectly with this crust.
- I like to use Google Home to set timers to remind me of required cooking times - just say "Hey Google, set a timer for X minutes".
- I prefer to use a perforated aluminum pizza pan - as opposed to a solid one - which allows the crust to cook more quickly and evenly.
