With Spring just around the corner (despite having 2 feet of snow on the ground), I thought it would be fun to talk about backyard gardens. Last summer one of the home DIY projects that we took on was the construction of a vegetable garden. We had been wanted to do something like this for a few years and the pandemic lock-down seemed to provide the perfect window of opportunity for the project.

Dishing on Dishes

Will someone please tell me why I have not been shopping for dishes in antique shops before?

Don’t get me wrong, I have spent many a rainy afternoon browsing the offerings of dusty, quaint, creaky floored antique stores. But for some strange reason I would always skip over the aisles or tables with the dishes, choosing instead to head straight for the dusty books, anything wood or worn, or things to hang on my walls. Yet I ignored the dishes…me who hosts dinner parties? Boy have I been missing out!

Sophisticated Super Bowl Charcuterie

We’ve been thinking about putting this one together for a while now, and with the big game right around the corner we figured why not? Let’s do a “sophisticated” Super Bowl charcuterie specifically geared to sports fans and/or major sporting events. The idea was go beyond the normal pizza, chicken wings, and chips, and pull together a bunch of top shelf finger foods, dips, and sauces (all homemade of course) that your guests will love.
