I had the opportunity to visit Stofa restaurant with my family for a second time in August to celebrate my 50th birthday. Once again, the restaurant – ranked #2 on the 2019 Top Ten Best New Restaurants List from Ottawa Magazine – didn’t fail to impress.
Although the space may lack some of the decorating and ambience of other high-end restaurants, they deliver big on food quality and flavour. Following a good start with my beloved old fashioned cocktail, I ordered the crispy pork belly appetizer. As the saying goes “Welcome to Flavour Town”…
From there, I moved on to a perfectly seared beef tenderloin with lobster tail main, featuring chantrelles and the most amazing charred baby corn (I still dream of those little nuggets of flavour). It was truly fantastic! Other orders at the table included seared turbot and scallop main dishes which were equally as impressive. And what better way to finish the night than with Stofa’s signature soufflĂ© – blueberry on this particular night – which is always accompanied by a homemade ice cream. Yum!
Located in Ottawa’s Westboro district, Stofa remains a must-see for diners looking for outstanding food quality at a reasonable price.
